The Wall Behind the Desk: All About Sam
Employment
I am currently the Systems Administrator for Implus Footcare, LLC.
In this capacity I manage the IT Department and its 2 component groups:
Support and EDI. We support and maintain hundreds computers, devices,
and servers as well as manage customer data interchange, corporate
physical and network security,
material handling mechanics and headquarter facilities. We also work on
the corporate intranet site and administrate numerous external
sites. I've been with Implus for several years and
enjoy it very much. Prior to my position there, I was in the college
admission and test prep industry serving as an intern for the Office of
Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and later
as the Student Services Counselor for the profit-leading Raliegh-Durham
center of the Washington Post's Kaplan Test Prep Company.
Computer
Experience
A majority of my experience is with Windows (98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista)
loaded
on Dell and HP/Compaq deskops and laptops. I also have some experience
with Windows Server 2003, Veritas Back-up Exec, Novell Netware,
Exchange, and BlackBerry Enterprise Server. I have a lot of experience
with HP and Brother printers and fax machines, as well as a variety of
devices to include BlackBerries, Treos, Smartphones and PDAs, cellular
modems, and WIFI devices. Ive taken several courses: A+Core/OS, Windows
Certified Desktop Technician, Dell Advanced User, HTML 4.0, .NET/XML,
Best Software's Mas90 Library Master, Sage Mas500 Core Applications and
Admin, SQL T-SQL Querries, and ADIX Phone System Programmer
Class) and been in the field for several years. Im currently a member
of IEEE Computer Society and have served as a voting member of USENIX
and the Systems Administrator's Guild (SAGE).

Currently, I serve as a Corporal in the 26th North Carolina Troops Re-Activated (a Civil War reenacting and preservation society).
